PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO₃) (Sodium Bicarbonate), commonly known as baking soda. White fine crystals, the solubility in water is less than that of sodium carbonate. It is also an industrial chemical with low toxicity. The solid above 50°C begins to decompose gradually to form sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide and water, and completely decomposes at 440°C. Sodium bicarbonate is an acid salt formed by the neutralization of a strong base and a weak acid. It is weakly alkaline when dissolved in water. This property allows it to act as a leavening agent in food preparation. Sodium bicarbonate will remain sodium carbonate after the action, and the use of too much will cause the finished product to have an alkaline smell.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Sodium bicarbonate is white crystal, or opaque monoclinic fine crystal. Specific gravity 2.15. Odorless, salty, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. It is soluble in 10 parts of water at 25°C and 12 parts of water at about 18°C. Its aqueous solution is slightly alkaline due to hydrolysis, stable at room temperature, easy to decompose when heated, gradually decomposes above 50 °C, completely loses carbon dioxide at 440 °C, no change in dry air, and slow decomposition in humid air.

PRODUCT USAGE

Sodium bicarbonate can be directly used as a raw material in the pharmaceutical industry for the treatment of hyperacidity. It can also be used in film production, tanning, mineral processing, smelting, metal heat treatment, and in fiber and rubber industries. At the same time, it is used as a detergent for wool, as well as for agricultural seed soaking. A widely used bulking agent in the food industry, used in the production of biscuits, cakes, steamed buns, bread, etc., is a generator of carbon dioxide in soft drinks; it can be combined with alum to form alkaline baking powder, and can also be combined with soda ash to form civil stone Alkali; can also be used as a butter preservative. In fire fighting equipment, it is used to produce acid-base fire extinguishers and foam fire extinguishers. In the rubber industry, it is used in the production of rubber and sponge by cooperating with alum and H pore forming agent to play the role of uniform pore formation. The metallurgical industry is used as a flux for casting steel ingots. In the machinery industry, it is used as a molding aid for cast steel (sand turning) sand molds. In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used as a fixing agent for dyeing and printing, an acid-base buffer, and a post-treatment agent for fabric dyeing and finishing. Adding baking soda to dyeing can prevent the yarn from producing color flowers. The pharmaceutical industry is used as a raw material for antacids.
